Save Groundwater
in Zimbabwe

The Subcatchment has since received good rains which will positively impact our groundwater table. However, abuse and misuse of the groundwater or boreholes may result in drastic  lowering of the water table as has been experienced in the past years.

Misuse of groundwater maybe in the form of watering lawns throughout the day, use of hosepipes in car washing and watering gardens, leaving water tanks to overflow, water sprinkler watering pavements and roads, and illegal borehole water abstraction. The public is therefore advised to water their lawns and gardens early in the morning or in the evening, rainwater harvesting, wash cars using buckets and avoid over spilling of water in tanks.
