Upper Manyame Sub-Catchment Council ushered the staff members, board, and stakeholders into the festive season with a Christmas Party and Awards Ceremony held at the Council’s offices.

The event was graced by Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa as well as Ambassador Kufa who were welcomed with a speech by the Board Chairman, Cde. Stalin Mau Mau.

“It’s such an honor to have the Ambassador present to witness the awarding ceremony of the most deserving staff members as well as appreciate the hard work that has been done throughout the year,” said Cde. Mau Mau.

The Ambassador gave an address in which he emphasized the importance of hard work toward making Zimbabwe great again.

He took it as an honour to be recognized and invited to such an event.

“I am happy to have been invited to this great event.

“The fact that there are staff members to appreciate shows that there are people who are putting their all into making things work.

“I encourage you all to remain with the same spirit to making Zimbabwe a better place,” he said.

“Upper Manyame Sub-Catchment Council is doing a great job in monitoring the water levels in the catchment area.

“Water is a very important thing in our lives and the job you’re doing should not be taken for granted,” said Ambassador Mutsvangwa.

The Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Wensley Muchineri, gave a keynote address in which he appreciated the work that had been done over the past year.

“I am happy that the Council is performing well in performing its mandate.

“We managed to carry out research and projects that have assisted in monitoring our water levels,” said Engineer Muchineri.

The most outstanding employees were awarded cash prizes from $50 to $500 respectively according to the different categories.

Children who were present were gifted with Christmas presents that had been sponsored by Cde. Mau Mau.

Cde. Mau Mau noted that he had begun the Christmas party and award ceremony initiative as a way to appreciate the hard work that is done by the staff members all year through.

He was happy that the board had decided to continue this initiative.
