Water pollution causes eutrophication of water bodies and proliferation of invasive species. The public is advised to avoid activities that pollute the water bodies such as stream bank cultivation; dumping liquid and solid waste in the water bodies.
The SubCatchment Council is actively involved in catchment protection activities such as waste removal, curbing unsanctioned activities (brick moulding, stream bank cultivation, river sand abstraction).
